Have you ever thought of turning back the clock on your physical body? Would you like to look like you're just 30, 40, or 50 again? While you may never choose to lie about your age, not be as smart, youthful and beautiful as you possibly can.

Weigh in and take heart. We're not all meant to have the build of ballet dancers or the muscles of weight lifters. With some dedication we can be fit, strong and healthy, regardless of what the number on the scale tell us. If you're concerned that you're carrying an unhealthy amount of fat, think back to when you felt your best. If you'd like to change the way you eat for the better, make an appointment with a nutritionist or your physician for recommendations on weight management programs. HMO's sometimes have free workshops or material that can inspire you. Changes in your body can be a signal that something needs attention.

Care for the skin you're in as you become determine to reverse the look of aging. Ask your partner to check out your back and areas you may be unable to see for unusual moles or "spots" that need to be evaluated by a dermatologist. Don't delay.

Look at your face and pamper it. Pampering your face and skin has nothing to do with vanity; they're fabulous ways to halt the aging process. Yes, you can give yourself facials at home, but the pampering, taking time for just you, is an important part of the process.

Find your perfect sunscreen. Whether you wear sunscreen with or without makeup, don't go out without it. The damaging rays that cause wrinkles and expose your skin to possible skin cancer are nothing to fool with. Why not bring hats back into style? They really do help reduce sun damage on the face and they're so much fun to shop for and wear.

Drink plenty of water. Water is calorie free, refreshes you inside and helps keep internal organs doing their jobs. It is a natural moisturizer for your skin too. You cannot get the same effect with coffee, cola, or any of the sports drinks which may actually deplete the body of necessary moisture, while adding unwanted calories.

Do you know your vital signs? What do those numbers mean? You may want to have a physical or schedule a time to talk with your health care professional. As a woman, continue with monthly breast self-exams and don't wait if there's any change in the structure or feeling in the breasts.

What's up with your posture? Would you like to look 5 pounds thinner and five years younger right this second? It's easy: Tuck your tummy and straighten your spine. As a matter of fact, you may want to make this a habit to increase your posture awareness.

Feel great about your feet. To reverse the aging process and to feel younger and happier, good shoes are essential. While at once time it was down right impossible to find cute and comfortable dress shoes for office and evening, now there are bundles of pretty shoes that even active businesswomen can wear all day long. Next time you slip on your sneakers or walking shoes, check the heels. If they're even slightly worn down, your body is out of alignment. When buying new athletic shoes, I always get two at the same time. Yes, it stretches the budget, but saves lots of time.

Have you checked your smile lately? If your teeth are not as pretty, straight or bright as you'd like them to be, talk with your dentist. There are a number of new dental procedures that can turn any smile into a beautiful one.

What age is your sense of adventure? Do you feel and act young at heart? Or are you sometimes in the dumps? Talk with a listening friend who always lifts your spirits or speak to a therapist or perhaps someone at your church. About 80 percent of American women will suffer from a period of depression sometime during their lives. Asking for help is the first step to overcoming feelings of gloom.

Reverse the aging process and then stop it all together with healthier eating. If you're feeling sluggish, ancient, tired and simply out of sorts, it may have everything to do with the foods you're eating. It's no mystery. Foods that are high in preservatives and low in nutrition do not supply the body with what it needs. Choose wholesome, often whole foods for snacks and meals. Switch to whole grains, especially for your morning cereal. Look for suggestions in cookbooks, magazines and on the Internet.

Some people seem to have incredible endurance and flexibility. How do you rate in this area? It's dangerous to compare your fitness level to others or to some chart in a magazine, but if you're not as strong or flexible as you'd like to be, make changes. Rekindle your love affair with your body. It's the only one you get. Take up or start again to help yourself to better health. Try brisk walking, hiking or cycling. What about fencing, swimming or ballroom dancing? Take a fitness vacation. Join a sports team. Get on track for a healthier and stronger life.
