That is why before each treatment begins we give our guests a full Kinesthetic Assessment. But this procedure provides valuable information and is useful to complete as a preventative measure, whether or not you are currently suffering from pain.
Kinesthetic Assessment uses sophisticated muscle testing skills in a comprehensive diagnosis of the physiological aspects of your body. The process monitors spine alignment and the way you move, and locates muscle imbalances and joint problems. The procedure works through the appraisal of your body's performance in several areas that contribute to your overall physical abilities in everyday life. These are: posture, flexibility, stability, coordination, muscular tone and performance. At the end of the assessment, your physiotherapist will give you a written report dependant on the condition of these areas and how well or adversely they are able to function in harmony.
Kinesthetic Assessment is crucial to understanding your individual physical state and identifying the underlying causes that contribute to pain. But even if you are pain free, the assessment is a valuable preventative measure. Sports related injuries and other accidents aside, most of the aches and pains we get - at whatever stage of life - are due to repetitive strain or prolonged periods of unbalanced movement through poor posture or inflexibility. Working long hours at the computer is a common cause of problems, but so is the way you walk, sit or stand.
Following Kinesthetic Assessment, your physiotherapist will advise on the type of exercise and therapeutic sessions you need to correct the imbalances in your body, so you can treat discomfort or avoid future problems and remain pain free.
