Lake Austin Spa Resort is pleased to announce the launch of our new author series, "For the Love of Books Book Club"!

New reports indicate that adult fiction reading is on the rise and we noticed that many of our guests were bringing books, exchanging titles and sharing informal reviews. While books provide the reader an outlet to escape, they also provide the opportunity to connect with others for discussion, one of the reasons home book clubs have been on the increase in recent years.

Beginning this spring, we will kick off our ongoing series that will feature a variety of best selling authors that will host programs and discussions about their work, plus other literary-themed activities like writing/journaling classes.

Our first guest will be Laura Lippman, who joins us on April 25 to discuss her new novel Life Sentences. Other notable New York Times best selling authors already scheduled include Brunonia Barry (The Lace Reader), Kate Jacobs (The Friday Night Knitting Club), Jill Connor Browne (The Sweet Potato Queen) and Chris Bohjalian (Skeletons at the Feast)
