"We used to say to the Rockettes, we do everything on ice that you do on the dance floor," said Sheila Cluff with a twinkle in her eye.
But eventually her parents called her home for college.
After graduation, she took a job teaching P.E. at a junior high school… and she used her experience on ice to get her students interested.
"I decided to take the joy of figure skating and put it on the gym floor. That was before boom boxes. I had to convince my principal to buy a piano and hire a pianist."

Sheila Cluff went on to start several fitness businesses, host a ground-breaking television show based on women's issues, and eventually, her own syndicated fitness segments.
73 year old Sheila now owns The Oaks at Ojai Spa and, within the past few years, she's gone back to professional figure skating.
